Position Summary

The International Republican Institute (IRI) is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID Indonesia Harmoni Program. The purpose of this program is to assist the Government of Indonesia and non-governmental organizations to address factors that push and pull Indonesians into violent extremist organizations.

The International Republican Institute (IRI) is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID Indonesia Harmoni Program. The purpose of this program is to assist the Government of Indonesia and non-governmental organizations to address factors that push and pull Indonesians into violent extremist organizations. 

Position Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and five years’ work experience, or work experience of seven years.
  • Significant relevant experience in project management and supervising staff, preferably as an operations manager for projects in developing and/or transition countries;
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising, managing, and implementing USAID-funded technical assistance projects.
  • Substantial experience working on key result areas of the proposed activity, like community resilience, CVE, reintegration, or civic education.
  • Thorough understanding of violent extremism environment in Indonesia, prior experience in Indonesia or South-East Asia preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and work on a multi-partner team.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with government officials, government agencies, media, and civil society.
  • Fluency in English required, proficiency of Bahasa Indonesia preferred.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

  • Must be capable of fulfilling the role of the Chief of Party in that person’s absence. His/her responsibility will be to ensure effective field coordination.
  • Works with partner organizations to ensure delivery of program objectives.
  • Ensures program compliance with USAID regulations and local laws.
  • Oversees work planning, performance management, monitoring & evaluation processes, donor reporting, and strategic communications.
