Jo joined Mango in July 2005, initially as a training associate delivering Mango’s range of courses, and she now works in developing and delivering training courses as the course development manager. A key focus in recent times has been helping organizations assess their partners’ financial health, and Jo is currently developing her first eLearning course in this area.
Jo’s working life began at the accountancy firm Arthur Andersen where as a trainee chartered accountant, she sought out charity audit clients. She joined the international NGO sector as head of international finance for British Red Cross, where she developed her management accounting skills working on emergency and development programs throughout the world. Her work took her across Africa, Russia/Central Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, working with partner organizations to strengthen their finance systems.
Q + A
Myanmar, where I have lucky enough to work as a Mango trainer on a number of occasions. It was the Burmese people who really impressed me – very positive, respectful, and principled and just great to work with. Top of my bucket list of places to visit in the distant future is Bhutan. A nation who has a Gross National Happiness Index just appeals hugely.
Clearly near impossible to limit this to just one but I will opt for Häagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream. Haven’t had one for a good while though, so might just have pop out later to get a tub…
