As regional director, East Africa, for Humentum, Sam is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, expanding our membership, and delivering learning and client services within the region. Coordinating an ongoing programme of networking events, she also facilitates, captures, and disseminates learning. Her overall goal is that any social sector organization or worker in the region can conveniently access Humentum’s services, and that voices from the region are heard and represented in Humentum’s advocacy efforts.
Before the merger of Mango with Humentum and LINGOs, Sam worked as an associate trainer and training developer with Mango since 2004. Alongside that, she held part time senior finance roles in NGOs including VSO and Child’s i Foundation, as well as in businesses, such as adventure operator Adrift in Uganda. Prior to that she spent many years in audit with Carr Stanyer, as well as consultancy and training, with Aclaim Africa.
Sam has a Natural Sciences degree from Cambridge University and qualified as a UK Chartered Accountant (ACA). She moved to Uganda in 2001 and is the Uganda contact member for Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales. She lives in Kampala with her husband and three primary school children and plays percussion in the Kampala Symphony Orchestra.
