Washington – Humentum and Industry Partner, Allegiant Global Partners, are pleased to announce a collaboration to provide an OpEx East Africa conference in 2020 that is more accessible for organizations by offering scholarships to selected recipients.

Each year, Allegiant thanks its clients for trusting them with their global insurance and assistance needs by sending a small gift or treat, but this year they sought to do something different. Allegiant recognizes that many organizations struggle with meeting budgeting constraints, but still desire to allow their staff to grow and gain knowledge from their peer groups professionally. It is with this in mind that Allegiant has partnered with Humentum to donate eight scholarships to Humentum’s East Africa conference in place of their traditional annual ‘thank you’ gift or treat.

Allegiant is excited to be part of the NGO community, and this is their small way of giving back to the sector. “Allegiant’s mission is to help our clients advance their missions, and we are continuously looking for new ways to build upon this. By providing this scholarship program, we can expand this focus beyond our client base. It allows us the opportunity to assist any Humentum member and to support the NGO community further,” said Jay Bride, CEO, and Denis Guay, President and Chief Customer Officer.

The two-day conference provides an opportunity for non-profit, civil society and community-based operations professionals across Africa to showcase their innovative work, learn best practices to enhance capacity, and engage with peers on critical issues in the relief and development sector. This year, attendees will gather at the KCB Leadership Center in Nairobi, Kenya.

Commenting on Allegiant’s generous support, Dr Christine Sow, CEO and President of Humentum, said: “We appreciate Allegiant’s sponsorship of this opportunity and are excited to be able to expand access to OpEx East Africa 2020. Humentum is pleased to bring together diverse voices to learn, discuss, and share in a variety of ways and we look forward to including more organizations in our collective action.”

General information about the scholarship nominations procedure can be found here. The nominations will remain open until February 28, 2020.
