JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for developing the technical narrative on public and private sector concept papers, responses to requests for proposals or requests for information. Responsible for deadlines and smooth process of proposal writing, including narrative development. Responsible for smooth interdepartmental facilitation of the grant writing process
REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the following requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation. • Master’s degree in public health, health sciences, or a related field. • Minimum 3 years of experience designing proposals and creating narratives. • Research skills. • Analytical skills. • Technical knowledge or exposure to sexual and reproductive health (family planning, maternal and child health) and rights. • Excellent partnering and relationship building skills, externally and internally. • Excellent written communication skills. • Excellent verbal communication skills. • Experience working on USAID, DFID, or foundations bids and winning proposals. • Ability to use knowledge of the organizational and political climate to solve problems and accomplish goals. • Ability to work cross-functionally. • Organizational skills. • High attention to detail. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to meet deadlines.
PREFERRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND FUNCTIONS: • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in the international development sector. • Comprehensive understanding of the key donor programmatic and procurement environment including of USAID, DFID, World Bank, European Bilaterals, CIDA, and other key stakeholders. • Fluency in French preferred (written and oral language). • Ability to manage multiple projects. • Must have lived and worked with feet on the ground in other countries. • Experience relationship building across the board (countries, teams, departments, etc.). • Ability to travel internationally and domestically, as needed. • Proven successful proposal writing skills, evidenced by customer and donor feedback and proposal win rate.
