Anna has worked on international development organisational and people issues for the past 30 years. Before becoming an HR consultant, Anna held HR Director positions at ActionAid UK and ACORD, both international NGOs. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) and with an MA in strategic human resources management. Her key skills are developing and delivering clear “people” strategies including reward, performance management and organisational planning processes, managing restructures, and developing healthy organisational cultures. Anna has served on a number of boards of trustees including Medair UK and an African INGO, Uganda Development Services as well as Vice-President of an international networking organisation, BNI (Business Network International).
Anna has worked globally across many different countries, including assignments in Africa, Asia and Europe. She handles the full spectrum of organizational development and human resources practice at both strategic and operational level together with a natural coaching and facilitating style which means she can lead diverse teams to work towards and achieve common goals. She has carried out assignments for the British Red Cross, CBM (Christian Blind Mission), Institute of Physics, International Rescue Committee, Islamic Relief Worldwide, Malaria Consortium, Norwegian Refugee Council, Save the Children and SolarAid. These assignments have ranged from moving to a matrix model structure and building collaborative ways of working; introducing fair job evaluation processes leading to better pay decisions; supporting employees through staff engagement to a better organizational culture and; providing tools for line managers to manage their people well. She works with a number of organizations such as the Disaster Emergency Committee and the National Emergencies Trust as well as some small to medium-sized UK based businesses on an on-going basis.
