Helen has over 20 years’ experience in international NGOs. She has held senior leadership positions at Greenpeace and ActionAid International and at ActionAid UK, where she is currently the director of fundraising, a position she’s held since 2011. In 2017 she was appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.

Helen counts a number of key successes throughout her career, including overseeing the doubling of ActionAid’s global income to over £200m annually, considerable expansion of the organisation into new countries, and raising over £300m in five years as leader of ActionAid’s UK fundraising programme. Originally hailing from Australia, she has been based in the UK since 2001 and has worked extensively overseas, including in South Africa, the Netherlands, India, and the US.

Helen has a BSc in Social Policy from Birkbeck, University of London, and an International Executive MBA from the IE Business School in Madrid.

Helen also serves as a trustee on the Board of Humentum UK.
