Rachel Gathagu advanced to Senior Manager Knowledge Management from Online Member Services Manager, a role she held since joining Humentum in December 2018. In her current role, she works to promote a knowledge management approach and knowledge sharing working cross-functionally with teams to promote a culture of learning and optimize the usage of organization’s knowledge.

As a champion of organization wide knowledge management, she works to create an awareness on the role of behavior and culture in promoting knowledge management. Rachel is skilled in and passionate about creating structures and processes to manage organizational knowledge.  With a learning and development background, she works at integrating knowledge management approaches that allow active engagement of people in cross-sharing and knowledge transfer that results in improved organizational performance.

She has extensive experience in working with organizations in the development sector, she worked in ActionAid International as the Learning & Knowledge Management Advisor where she was responsible for creating enabling learning spaces and environment, promoting social learning and collaboration through nurturing communities of practice. She also worked as the Program Support and Business Administrator for West Africa Region (supporting 6 countries) in ActionAid. She has also worked in Save the Children where she supported 5 country programs in East Africa Region, and she also worked in CARE International in Kenya Program.

Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of the Business Management from St. Paul’s University in Kenya.
