Description
This online course helps NGO finance managers use Artificial Intelligence (AI) safely and effectively — from drafting budgets and explaining variances to extracting invoice data and answering questions about donor agreements.
The opportunity is real: less time on manual processing, and higher-quality budgets and reports. So is the risk. In finance, an output trusted without checking can damage a budget, a funder report, or an audit. That is why this course pairs practical AI skills with the judgement to verify outputs, protect sensitive data, and keep humans accountable for every decision.
Built on the Finance DPro framework, the course follows the building blocks NGO finance teams already use — accounting records, financial planning, financial monitoring, and internal control. Across six live sessions, you first set up and personalize your own AI assistant, then apply it across these building blocks using realistic nonprofit finance examples. You finish the course able to use AI in your finance work with confidence.
Note: The demonstrations predominantly use Claude, but everything applies equally to ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini. Step-by-step examples of every task are provided for all four AI assistants, in addition to the live webinars.
