Description

Do you have a second “to do” list of managing your team? And if you do, does it usually get pushed to the bottom?

With the best intentions, people management can turn into task delegation. Without understanding yourself first, it’s hard to multiply your impact through others. In this Nonprofit management training course, you’ll start with an assessment of your capabilities and learn how internal check-ins and self-reflection can help you become a better leader.

Building on that base of self-knowledge, you’ll then learn how to communicate effectively, strengthen your interpersonal skills, and apply effective techniques. By the end of the course, you’ll have a plan to apply these skills as well as practice using them.

What you will learn

By the end of the Nonprofit management course, you will be able to:

  • Assess your strengths and identify areas to improve as a manager
  • Provide effective feedback
  • Understand and apply which people management strategies are most effective at the individual and team level
  • Apply practical strategies to motivate others
  • Take time for planning and self-reflection

You are also actively encouraged to engage in collaborative learning through discussions and hands-on group work.

This training runs over eight days and you are required to log in at set times each day to attend a live webinar, each lasting approximately 120 minutes. You will also access videos and join discussions.

We estimate this training requires three hours per day, depending on your pace of learning, and previous experience.

Our trainer, Sue [Coe], is very passionate and has a lot of experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. The way she facilitated the training, brought ideas together, and engaged us was excellent.

Amanuel Abera Head of Programs, WEEMA

This learning experience has strengthened my understanding of effective NGO management, including organizational leadership, planning, accountability, and operational excellence. I look forward to applying these skills to enhance the impact of the projects I support, particularly in empowering women, youth, and persons with disabilities through sustainable development initiatives.Thank you, Humentum, for this valuable learning opportunity.

Maureen Awino Project Officer, Arabuko Ltd

I particularly appreciated the opportunities to discuss and share experiences among participants. Practicing scenarios in small groups was also helpful

Jessica Rosenthal Red Cross

Aside from the likeminded group of global professionals…it was definitely the thoughtful way content and material was presented, from whole group discussions and breakout rooms to using interactive tools such as Mural, there was an opportunity to engage every learning style and keep the modules interesting.

Ashleigh Gilley, M.A.T Program Coordinator, International Youth Foundation
