Sareta Thomas was Humentum’s Regional Director, Africa and was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Humentum’s key stakeholders in the Africa regions.

She is a senior financial professional with 17 years International NGO experience based in Pretoria, South Africa, and has worked with Humentum, then Mango, since 2004. Sareta is one of the senior trainers qualified to run Humentum’s Training for Finance Trainers course. Sareta also works as a financial management consultant, advising NGO finance teams on best practice in financial management and providing training for project staff. She has delivered more than 200 Humentum training courses and undertaken consultancies for NGO staff and local partners in over 35 African countries and other countries in Asia /Pacific. Sareta’s goal is to ensure that any social sector organization or development practitioner in the region can conveniently access Humentum’s services—including learning opportunities, membership services, and consulting advice. Sareta has a real passion for NGO capacity building and has supported the establishing of two social enterprises in Ethiopia and Sudan in the last two years.

Sareta combines her leadership and management skills with her accountancy training and experience, to support organizations strengthen their capacity, financial management and accountability. Sareta has practical experience in auditing, finance and corporate marketing from the NGO, commercial and public sectors.
