Do you have a second “to do” list of managing your team? And if you do, does it usually get pushed to the bottom?
With the best intentions, people management can turn into task delegation. Without understanding yourself first, it’s hard to multiply your impact through others. In this NGO management skills training, you’ll start with an assessment of your capabilities and learn how internal check-ins and self-reflection can help you become a better leader. Building on that base of self-knowledge, you’ll then learn how to communicate effectively, strengthen your interpersonal skills, and apply effective techniques.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a plan to apply these skills as well as practice using them.
What you will learn
By the end of the training, you will be able to:
Assess your strengths and identify areas to improve as a manager
Provide effective feedback
Understand and apply which people management strategies are most effective at the individual and team level
Apply practical strategies to motivate others
Take time for planning and self-reflection

I particularly appreciated the opportunities to discuss and share experiences among participants. Practicing scenarios in small groups was also helpful
