Creating internationally applicable financial reporting guidance for non-profits, to improve accountability, transparency and trust, while reducing the compliance burden. This project is led jointly by Humentum and CIPFA.

Locally-led Development
Advancing locally-led development and shaping donor policies that shift power and ownership of humanitarian assistance and development programming to national and local organizations. Humentum also works directly with local organizations to deliver training, mentoring, and support to help strengthen capacity.
Learn more about our partnership with Start Network through which we will explore new approaches and tools for assessing and managing risk, that put accountability to crisis-affected communities at the center and remove some of the barriers to funding access that local and national organizations face.

Transforming INGO Models for Equity for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
The Transforming INGO Models for Equity for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (TIME for SRHR) initiative aims to explore international nongovernmental organizations’ (INGOs) roles in our global ecosystem. It also seeks to understand the impact of our current operational models and to outline future operational models that will best support our principles of equity and justice and our goal of advancing global health.

Administration Costs Research Project
Helping organizations fully recover their indirect costs so they can focus on the work that matters. Humentum is engaged in sector-wide initiatives like our Administration Costs Research (ACR) Project and our Money Where it Counts Initiative with the Norwegian Refugee Council.

Preventing Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) / Safeguarding
Ensuring a safe environment for all that are served by humanitarian and development programming. Our team collaborates with CHS Alliance and contributes to the USAID Community of Practice initiative, which strengthens employment accountability, referencing, and screening to prevent the circulation of perpetrators of sexual misconduct in the aid sector.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive sector by challenging ourselves, our sector partners, and donors to prioritize equity in all policies and practices. Humentum leads this effort through research initiatives like the Benchmarking Race, Inclusion, and Diversity in Global Engagement (BRIDGE), an institutional survey established by a volunteer coalition including Humentum.

To keep our members and stakeholders informed and engaged, we publish quarterly Advocacy Advisor updates for development and humanitarian assistance professionals across the globe.
