Increasingly the humanitarian aid and development community is drawn into complex and challenging environments which present risks to people, facilities, assets, operations, information, business, and the hard won reputation of organizations. Exacerbating the challenges are increasing expectations from staff, their families, and donors. As such, organizational resiliency must be mature and comprehensive, reflecting the threats faced by ensuring the right risk controls and response measures are in place.
RSM, an industry partner of Humentum, partners with hundreds of NGOs as they assess their risks; build ISO compliant policies, plans, guidelines, and protocols on security risk management, organizational resiliency, and emergency management; and then operationalize knowledge and practice through online and in-person certified training and exercising programs.
As an Approved Training Center for the ILM, HRCI, and SHRM we have trained organizations such as Care, World Vision, the Ford Foundation, the Aspen Institute, the Center for Victims of Torture, Oxfam, and Jhpiego. One of our partner organizations reported that after attending a HEAT course not only did staff confidence go up and security related incidents go down, but the training directly contributed to staff retention. Participants of a recent Family Liaison Officer’s leadership course said “the course was an eye opener, demonstrating the need for detailed planning before a crisis occurs.” RSM’s courses are validated through third party awarding bodies and are run by world class experts who bring a deep understanding of the nuances of the NGO community, the risks the community faces, and the operating environments in which they work.
RSM’s courses are NGO specific and offer ILM certifications and SHRM and HRCI credits, addressing critical training on Senior Risk and Business Continuity Leadership; Security Focal Point Development; Fraud, Corruption and Ethical Violation Investigations Management and Family Liaison Officer programs, as well as many other leadership topics. We also have a Fleet Management and Safe Driver Program in multiple languages, as well as hundreds of individual level eLearning courses on safety, security, and cultural awareness; training over 950,000 people globally and in multiple languages.
In November 2018 RSM will be opening the only NGO HEAT training facility which boosts villages, a tented refugee camp, a mine, boobytrap and UXO lane, a bullet penetration area and a UN base for a truly immersive HEAT or leadership experience – allowing us to further enhance the quality of our HEAT training for the NGO community.
RSM offers Humentum members 10% off any of our online training courses, and 5% off any instructor-led training program. Please see the links below for more information:
