15 September 2020: Humentum announced the winners of its 2020 Operational Excellence Awards during the online launch of OpEx365, its annual conference re-imagined. Humentum’s year-long journey of virtual learning and networking will bring together the global development community to tackle systemic issues and co-create solutions to ensure sustainable and transformative change in a post-COVID-19 world.

Highlighting the vital role of colleagues who contribute to positive impact in this sector, the Operational Excellence Awards recognize five individuals or teams who showcase innovation, collaboration, and collective and lasting impact through their inspiring work, including one honorable mention. Humentum also honors one Industry Partner and one Humentum Learning Services Partner for their continued commitment to its members.

The 2020 Humentum Operational Excellence Award winners were:

  • USAID/Honduras Transforming Market Systems Activity Team at ACDI/VOCA
  • Samar El-Yassir; Lebanon Country Director at Anera
  • Dr. Petra Kruger; Senior Technical Advisor at Aurum Institute
  • Theresa Decker; Manager of Learning and Performance Support at Samaritan’s Purse

The Honorable Mention Award went to the Project Insights Team at Catholic Relief Services.

The 2020 Industry Award went to Sage Intacct; the 2020 Partner of the Year Award went to Learning Pool (formerly Curatr).

“COVID-19 has presented us with unprecedented global challenges, highlighting the importance of collective action and collaboration, both in terms of how we deal with one another and how we interact with the external environment,” said Humentum President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Christine Sow. “Now more than ever it is important to celebrate the extraordinary individuals and teams working to ensure impact despite the crisis. They have demonstrated the capacity to succeed in a difficult year and remind us why we are engaged in global development – to ensure a more equitable, just and resilient world.”

This year’s winners were chosen from nearly 50 nominations submitted by Humentum member organizations. Nominators were asked to provide a detailed nomination demonstrating how their colleagues embodied operational excellence.
