Skills and experience
Chris is a Scottish Chartered Accountant and became an associate trainer and consultant with Humentum in 2016. He spent his early career in the private sector in financial management roles with multi-nationals (in oil and gas, construction and food-processing) and latterly leading high growth business start-ups. He moved into the NGO/social enterprise sector in 2013.
Chris is based in the UK and his specialism is providing strategic financial management advice. Chris has worked as CFO for a children’s charity in China, then as a Training Director for a social impact micro-leasing organization in Tanzania, and as virtual Finance Director for a Kenya-based on-line training company. He is constantly impressed by the passion, commitment and ingenuity of people in the not-for-profit sector and what can be achieved with limited resources. He sees the difference that financial understanding and management makes to project outcomes and enjoys being the conduit to bring program and finance teams together.
