Christine F. Kallemera joined Humentum (formerly Mango) in 2010 as an associate consultant and trainer. In this role, she facilitates a number of capacity-building initiatives in the development sector to strengthen their financial management and accountability practices. She has primarily facilitated over forty financial management workshops in East and Southern Africa. Between 2009 and 2011, she carried out financial management assessments for Tearfund Partners in Uganda, using a financial management capacity assessment tool that Mango developed.
Christine is a qualified accountant. Before working in the development sector, she held the position of external auditor with an audit firm in Kampala, Uganda. She was responsible, both individually and as part of a team, for evaluating systems of internal control, determining the accuracy and reliability of financial information and other disclosures, directing and guiding audit trainees during the performance of audit engagements, preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, assessments of compliance with donor and other regulatory authorities, report writing, and presentation of findings to management and board.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (accounting major) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of East and Southern Africa (ESAMI). She currently lives in Harare, Zimbabwe, where she works as an independent financial consultant and trainer. While in Uganda, Christine served as board treasurer for Uganda Development Services, a nonprofit organization. In Zimbabwe, she serves as treasurer of the Uganda Women Association.
