Ennie Chipembere Chikwema
Technical Director, Locally Led Development, South AfricaEnnie joined Humentum in January 2022 as Director of Locally Led Development, guiding Humentum on its commitment to support locally-led development within its strategy, initiatives, and operations.
Ennie has worked in the NGO sector for 20 years, starting her career in Zimbabwe at Konrad Adenauer Foundation Stiftung, where she was responsible for strengthening the organizational capacity of local and national partners, program design, and donor relationship management. Previously, Ennie worked at ActionAid International, a global social justice organization. Ennie held five roles during her time there, most recently, Head of Programme Quality, M&E, Learning and Knowledge Management. These roles deepened Ennie’s experience of working with local and national partners at the local and global levels.
Ennie has extensive knowledge of participatory planning as well as strategy and organizational development. Throughout her career, Ennie has also gained wide-ranging experience in designing, facilitating, and managing multi-stakeholder learning processes with delicate power and gender dynamics.
A passionate leadership coach and career development practitioner, Ennie has developed an online career coaching service to support work-life-learning integration, holistic well-being, and leadership coaching. Ennie holds a master’s in international development studies from Dalhousie University in Canada.
