Robert Poccia has been working in the not-for-profit sector for nearly 15 years. He supervised the Accounts Payable and General Ledger functional units at the headquarters of an international NGO. He later accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer of a $100 million productive infrastructure cooperative agreement in Haiti before, during, and after the 2010 earthquake, when the program shifted its focus to humanitarian relief.
Case studies
As a consultant, Robert has worked with clients in Europe and Africa to enhance the financial planning process, linking the annual budgeting exercise to the organization’s strategic operating plan. Robert has worked with a variety of funders including BMGF, USAID, CDC, the Global Fund, DfID, several EU-based governmental agencies, and many private foundations. Robert has also worked on a midwifery program in Afghanistan, an integrated health services project start-up team in Malawi, served as operations director for a male circumcision effort in Mozambique and as a West Africa finance business partner for a large health NGO with projects across 10 west African nations. He is fluent in French and Portuguese with a strong foundation in Spanish. He currently resides in Dakar, Senegal.
