Skills and experience

Sareta Thomas is a senior financial professional and independent consultant with over 24 years of experience in the international development sector. She has worked with NGOs across 48 countries throughout Africa, the Caribbean, the US, the UK, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. Her passion lies in empowering non-profits to become more financially sustainable, accountable, and resilient.

Her key areas of expertise include financial management and sustainability, grant management and governance, NGO capacity strengthening and board advisory, and cross-cultural collaboration and mentoring.

She is the Founder and Director of FR=SH NGO Training, where she delivers tailored training and consultancy services to NGOs and funders, helping them strengthen internal systems and drive impact.

Previously, Sareta served as Humentum’s Regional Director for Africa (2018–2023), building relationships and supporting access to Humentum’s global services across the continent. She has been a Humentum Associate since 2004 and formerly worked with the legacy Mango team.

She has also supported the creation of social enterprises in Ethiopia and Sudan and has mentored countless NGO leaders to lead with financial confidence and clarity.
