Description

Virtual training is more than showing slides on a screen. In this course, we’ll demystify the concepts of online learning and teach you a variety of techniques to make material come to life.

You’ll learn how to recognize different adult learning styles and how to adapt course material to fit your learners’ needs. You’ll also practice using a variety of tools and techniques to encourage interaction.  Throughout the course, you’ll engage in facilitated discussions, group exercises, and illustrated presentations. Plus, we’ll take you “behind the scenes” to learn how to develop course content and manage a virtual room.

When you’re done, you’ll be ready to use these tools for successful events and trainings for your NGO.

Humentum’s practical training puts the learner first. Our expert facilitators draw on their own sector and subject-specific knowledge for a worthwhile and enjoyable learner experience. They will share relevant tools, techniques, and insights that are immediately transferrable to your own work. You are also actively encouraged to engage in collaborative learning through discussions and hands-on group work.

This training runs over ten days, and you are required to log in at set times each day to attend live webinars, each lasting approximately 90 minutes. You will also access videos and join discussions.

I like the participatory structure of the course – the live interactive webinars, individual presentations, and self-study from reviewing training materials. I have become more comfortable using interactive tools, including ZOOM and its features/tools, Mural, google slides, and Menti as a user/content creator. I have also learned different techniques for preparing for a virtual training event, managing the training, understanding the different adult learning styles, and enhancing engagement among participants. I will apply what I have learned in my job to build the capacity of internal teams on technical subjects. I will use the tools and techniques I have learned to manage the training sessions I have planned with internal teams and provide training that is more interactive and engaging for participants to enable them to retain the knowledge from the sessions. I will recommend this training for anyone or a trainer that is planning to facilitate a virtual-led training. The virtual eFacilitation training provided a learning environment that encouraged multidirectional knowledge sharing using different tools between learners and trainers in an interactive manner.
